on the bloomberg mayor's challenge. i have deep ties with the community technology here in san francisco. i joined google in 2002 which makes me a bit of a dinosaur at google, but i have a lot of colleague now who are in the tech community and ex-classmates who are now at twitter and yelp and [speaker not understood]. and i'm here applying today mostly because i love san francisco. i've lived here most of my adult life. i reese presidently became a homeowner and i intend to raise my family here and i feel this is a way to give back to my community. i did a survey of my life and decided i wanted to do more in volunteering. i've been asking people about commissions. i decided this commission was of the greatest interest to me. health care in san francisco. it's directed towards full seniors and disabled adults. we have four centers in san francisco. we've been around for 30 years. we enable seniors to live independently in community when they get to a point where they have difficulty managing on their own. so, by coming to adult day health care every day, they are able to have their health care managed, get social connection with other people, and maintain independence, preventing going into skilled nursing homes too soon. >> it says -- it mentions serving low-income seniors -- [multiple voices] >>> primarily because we're really focused on a medi-cal qualified population. but truthfully, we serve anyone who could also pay the private pay rate. but primarily we're looking at low-income seniors. >> thank you. are you done with your questioning? thank you, ladies, appreciate it. i just wanted to make a few comments. just, of course, as we know, this is a really difficult decision. i definitely stand by my first decision of supporting mark burns. i know that -- and i was aware of the lack of women on this p

visit people in their homes and seeing the great diversity in san francisco and watching as the diversity is pushed further and further to the outlying areas. i happen to live around noe valley and i'm watching google take over. buses that transport people back and forth and i look at that and say much like what happened to the castro area, the older people who lived there got pushed out by gays. what happens' happening now is we're having a similar pushing out to the out skirts, people who are no longer young, who are no longer perhaps working, who are no longer breeding among other things, but who do need the kinds of services that i think this task force is, you know, brought together to speak to and address. ~ and as i said, i can bring new blood to this. i have not worked deeply in the political zone and i feel as though i both missed something and avoided something. so, for my part at this time in my life, i'd like to take some of my time and put it toward that. i'm not about to retire, but i do want to change a little bit of the proportion of what i'm doing in term

this all began back in 2004 in san francisco. on the annual freedom to marry day, a day when gay and lesbian couples across the state applied for marriage licenses knowing they would be fund away. in 2004 the city clerk was told not to turn away the same-sex marriage couples and she the licenses. i was at city hall and it was chaos but joy office -- but joy office chaos. this said this action in motion and now two of the plaintiffs are a lesbian couple from berkeley and the other couples are gay men from southern california. we saw them go inside just a little bit ago. i am privileged to have a seat inside the supreme court. we are not allowed to tweet? there so you are going to have to wait for my live report tonight on abc7 news. live in washington, dc, outside the supreme court, this morning for abc7 news. >> she will be inside and will report back after the historic arguments on abc7 news going at 4:00 this afternoon. >> california lt. governor, attorney general hairharris will be at the supreme court all played a role in the same-sex marriage movement. chief justice john rob

're following breaking news from san francisco. that officer involved shooting tied to a stolen taxi cab. brian flores is there in fort mason. you just got new video, brian. >> reporter: good morning, dave. we're in the fort mason area. as you can see behind me still a very active scene. it's been that way for at least 30 minutes. there are cop cars in this area. this is the area where we believe the stolen cab is located. we still haven't seen it yet. this is the last location of where the stolen cab is and what we believe were the suspect was arrested. here's details of what we know this morning. from what we understand, the suspect vandalized a taxi cab. somewhere in the area of jackson and buchanon. the driver of that taxi cab got out and confronted the suspect. when he did so the suspect entered the taxi cab and stole and drove away with it. officers were able to locate that taxi cab in a patrol car around jackson and spruce but that taxi cab actually rammed into the patrol car and from what we understand there are shots fired in the area of ja

but other than that the drive time is not impacted. 24 minutes out of san francisco. >> we are following developing news out of the east bay this morning. fire crews in berkeley are on scene of a fire at a restaurant. it's located at the "chez panisse" restaurant on the 15-hundred block of shattuck avenue. no word yet on how the questioned on what exactly led up to the shooting. the suspect still on the loose. new information in the lion attack. that left a 24- year old woman dead. at an exotic animal park sanctuary in fresno. officials say, an intern named dianna hanson was cleaning a lion's cage while talking on her cell phone when she was killed. this is video of the lion's cage where she was attacked by this 550- pound african lion named "cous- cous." officials say, the lion was able to use its paw to lift a partially closed door and escape the smaller cage he was in. the coroner says, she was killed by a paw swipe that broke her neck. the lion was killed on site. burglars have ripped off a charitable organization in concord. breaking into the agency's warehouse in martinez
